About Mitzie Ranieri

I have spent 25 years in the travel industry in a variety of positions. While I have an interest
in many destinations and types of travel experiences, my real passion lies in two areas:
cultural travel and sustainable travel. It is my strong belief that, as the world community
changes and becomes more homogeneous, responsible travel to different countries is now and
will continue to be an important tool in helping to preserve and promote the unique qualities
inherent in each culture…be they historical, architectural, artistic, musical, or the daily life
of an indigenous people.

Hand in hand with cultural preservation is the growing desire by travelers to participate
in Sustainable Travel…travel that not only provides a wonderful experience for the traveler,
but also contributes to the environmental health of an area by utilizing travel suppliers that
1) give back to the culture through volunteer activities and financial contributions,
2) lessen the carbon footprint by utilizing truly “green” building and maintenance
techniques and 3) employ local people and businesses as part of the travel community.

More and more luxury travel companies and hotels are becoming a part of these positive
trends and it is truly exciting to be a partner in booking and promoting this type of travel.
