LAKE SHORE TRAVEL WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY ARISING FROM CONTENT, USE OF OR ANY OTHER MATTER OR EVENT ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO ANY LINK(S) TO OR USE OF ANOTHER WEBSITE.
These Terms Of Use do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
You Are Responsible to Obtain Passports and Visas
You are responsible to assure that all passports and visas required for your trip have been obtained, that visas for each country are valid for entry and exit dates of your visit, your personal details in the visa are accurate and your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the completion date of your trip. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL IS NOT AND WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DELAY OR DENIAL OF ENTRY OR EXIT DUE TO LACK OF VISA OR ERROR IN ANY VISA.
A Visa Does Not Assure Entry or Exit
Issuance and possession of a visa does not assure entry or exit. Each country is a sovereign government. Even with a visa, a local immigration officer and other authorities can decide whether to allow or refuse entry. These decisions may be based on factors set by the law and rules and current policies of that nation, over which Lake Short Travel has no control.
Carrying Identification
Many kinds of travel, for example, on an airline or cruise ship and across an international border, require you to present identification that meets requirements of governments and travel providers. Obtaining, carrying and when required, presenting a valid passport, visa(s), and other documents when required are your responsibility and the responsibility of each member of your group. When traveling domestically or internationally, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) advise everyone to carry at least two forms of acceptable identification to board a flight. See, https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification. The name, date of birth and gender that appears on the identification card must exactly match these categories of information on the airline ticket(s) and booking record(s).
The Real ID Act of 2005 sets stricter security standards for state driver licenses and other identification. Starting October 1, 2021, Real ID-compliant identification is required to board a domestic flight, such as a compliant driver’s license or U.S. passport. If your trip includes air travel you should check the Department of Homeland Security website www.dhs.gov/real-id to determine if your state-issued identification is Real ID-compliant and what alternate forms of identification will be accepted.
Some countries will not admit a person whose passport will expire within six (6) months of the entry date. If your passport is approaching six months from expiration, you should renew your passport before starting travel. Non-United States citizens may be required to carry and present additional documentation. You must have travel documents for children and infants in your group. Minors traveling with only one parent or without both parents may be stopped and not admitted, unless authenticated and verified consent forms are provided to authorities. See https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/268/kw/travel.
Failure by you or someone in your group to meet these requirements may result in you and others in your group being delayed or not allowed to pass a security checkpoint, delay or denial of boarding, missed flight(s), missed departures on cruise(s) or other transportation and delay or refusal of entry to a country, Check government and supplier websites for document requirements and make sure you and all members in your group obtain and carry travel documentation required.
LAKE SHORE TRAVEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DELAY OR DENIAL OF BOARDING OR DELAY OR REFUSAL OF ADMISSION DUE TO ISSUES OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION AND IDENTIFICATION.
Some Countries Restrict or Refuse Entry or Exit Due to Criminal Offenses
Some countries restrict or refuse entry or exit due to criminal offenses. These can also include past offenses that may seem minor or that would not be an offense currently (for example, past alcohol or drug-related offenses). If you or someone in your group has a current or past offense, even minor, your entry or exit may be refused or delayed. You must contact authorities of each country you may enter or exit for current entry and exit requirements and restrictions. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DELAY OR DENIAL OF ENTRY OR EXIT BY AUTHORITIES OF ANY COUNTRY.
Travel Involves Risks
Travel involves many risks. Risks include but are not limited to disorientation and becoming lost, criminal activity, unrest, hostilities, dishonesty of merchants and others, physical violence, misunderstandings due to differing languages, misunderstandings due to differing customs, weaker food or water safety, lack of sanitation, different or insufficient medical and health care facilities and care, weather, natural disasters and misunderstandings with law enforcement and government officials. Travel in some destinations involves greater risks in some categories and in other destinations greater risks in other categories. You are responsible to keep informed of current news, and review travel prohibitions, warnings, announcements and advisories issued by the U.S. Government prior to booking travel to international destinations. Information on conditions in various countries and levels of risk associated with travel to particular international destinations can be found at www.state.gov, www.tsa.gov, www.dot.gov, www.faa.gov, www.cdc.gov, and www.cbp.gov. For example, the Travel Advisory webpage of the U.S. State Department is at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/. The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service of the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens who travel to, or live in, a foreign country. STEP lets you enter information about your upcoming trip so the Department of State can better assist you in an emergency. Registration is recommended and can begin at https://step.state.gov/step/.
BY DESCRIBING, OFFERING OR ARRANGING TRAVEL TO DESTINATIONS, LAKE SHORE TRAVEL DOES NOT REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT TRAVEL TO SUCH POINTS OR AREAS IS ADVISABLE OR WITHOUT DANGER OR RISK, GENERALLY, OR FOR YOU OR YOUR GROUP, OR IN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. TRAVEL TO A DESTINATION THAT MAY INVOLVE RISKS ACCEPTABLE TO SOMEONE ELSE, MAY NOT BE RIGHT FOR YOU, YOU MUST ANALYZE AND MAKE YOUR RISK ASSESSMENT AND DECISION YOU CONSIDER RIGHT FOR YOU. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR COSTS, DAMAGES, OR LOSSES THAT MAY RESULT FROM TRAVEL TO SUCH DESTINATIONS. YOUR PARTICIPATION CONSITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH EVENTS AT YOUR RISK.
You Must Comply With Supplier Terms
You authorize Lake Shore Travel to book on third party travel booking sites to fulfill your travel requests, and on your behalf to accept the third party terms, which may limit your rights. You agree to bound by such actions.
Separate supplier terms will apply to your reservation and purchase of travel. You agree to abide by the terms set by Lake Shore Travel and any supplier that provides services related to the travel, including but not limited to, payment of all amounts when due and compliance with the supplier’s rules and restrictions regarding availability and use of fares, products, or services. You acknowledge that violation of a supplier’s conditions of purchase may result in cancellation of your reservation(s) or purchase, you and your group being denied access to flights, hotels, cruises, or automobiles, forfeiting monies paid for the reservation(s) or purchase, and Lake Shore Travel charging you for costs Lake Shore Travel incurs due to the violation. You shall be responsible for charges, fees, duties, taxes, and assessments arising out of your travel bookings through Lake Shore Travel.
In any conflict, inconsistency or ambiguity of terms, Lake Shore Travel will benefit from the terms or interpretation most favorable to Lake Shore travel in each instance.
Time for Payment
Full payment is due prior to departure according to the terms of each supplier (airline, hotel, cruise line, transfer company, sightseeing operators, and other travel service vendors) involved in your travel. If full payment is not received by the due date, reservations are subject to cancellation and deposits shall be forfeited.
Limitation on Refunds
Some providers have a no-refund policy after a booking is made and paid for. A refund may not be available if you change or cancel your travel plans or if the supplier cancels or reschedules. Where a partial refund is available, cancellation will result in you being charged Lake Shore Travel’s and third party supplier’s cancellation fees. These may be stated in travel documentation, this Website, and each supplier’s website. Lake Shore Travel will have the right to charge cancellation fees to the credit card you authorized to pay for travel services, or to deduct from the supplier’s refund or to invoice you. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A SUPPLIER’S FAILURE OR REFUSAL TO MAKE A REFUND WHETHER OR NOT PROMISED BY THE SUPPLIER.
Airline Reservations Are Not Automatically Included
Unless stated in writing, airline reservations are not included. Making air arrangements, and arranging transportation to and from the destination where the travel booking originates and returns, are your responsibility. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AIR AND/OR GROUND
Schedule Changes.
Sometimes, on departure from a country, departure taxes must be paid in cash, and may vary.
You Must Check Flight Times
You are responsible to contact the air carrier to check departure times at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time for domestic flights, and 72 hours prior for international flights and again at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure time for domestic flights and 3 hours prior to scheduled departure time for international flights. Failure to use a reservation may result in automatic cancelation of all continuing and return flights, and forfeiture of airfares.
No Refund For Unused Travel
Prices may sometimes be based on contract rates. There is no refund for any unused portion of a travel booking. Some group tours are based on minimum numbers of passengers traveling; if the number of passengers falls below the minimum required, a surcharge may be imposed or the tour may be rescheduled or canceled.
Currencies Fluctuate.
Currency exchange rates fluctuate. Prices are subject to change based fluctuations. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PRICING CHANGES OR OTHER IMPACTS FROM CHANGES IN CURRENCY EXCHANGE RATES.
Change to Confirmed Booking May Result in a Charge
If you decide to change any portion of your confirmed arrangements prior to departure or during your trip, we will try to assist you at our applicable administrative charge, depending on circumstances of the request.
Health/Security/Travel Documentation Requirements.
You and each person in your group are responsible to have required immunizations and documentation of immunizations before travel. LAKE SHORE TRAVEL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ACCURACY OF HEALTH REQUIREMENTS OR VACCINATION AND/OR DOCUMENTATION PRIOR TO DEPARTURE OR ON LANDING AT THE FINAL DESTINATION. Before travel, required inoculations must be recorded by the health care provider for you and each person in your group on a valid vaccination certificate, which each person must carry for proof of inoculation where required. If you are concerned about taking medications or receiving inoculations, check with your health care provider before booking. Check the US State Department Website http://travel.state.gov, for information relating to specific destinations, and US Centers for Disease Control http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/ relating to health issues. For more information regarding security, safety issues, crime, need for travel documentation (such as passports, visas, proof of health/vaccination certificates), health hazards, and other restrictions regarding travel to your domestic and/or international destination(s), and re-entry into the United States visit www.tsa.gov, www.dot.gov, www.faa.gov.us, www.ustreas.gov, www.cbp.gov regularly for information regarding disease, terrorism, safety, crime, need for travel documentation (passports, visas, proof of health/vaccination certificates), health hazards, and other restrictions regarding travel to your domestic and/or international destination(s), and re-entry into the United States especially your embassy and http://www.uscis.gov/ for non-US citizens. You are responsible to inform Lake Shore Travel if you are traveling on a passport from a country other than the USA.
Prohibition of Hazardous Materials on Aircraft
US law forbids bringing hazardous materials on the aircraft. Violation can result in imprisonment and fines. Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radio-active materials. Examples include paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gases, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals. There are special exceptions for small quantities (up to 70 ounces total) of medicinal and toilet articles in passenger luggage and some smoking materials carried on one’s own person. For more information, contact the airline. Restrictions on hazardous materials are listed at www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items and www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/hazmat_safety/.
Insecticides are Restricted.
You should check the list of countries that require airlines to treat the passenger cabin with insecticides prior to the flight or while on the aircraft on the DOT’s website: www.dot.gov/office-policy/aviation-policy/aircraft-disinsection-requirements.
E-Tickets.
E-tickets expire one year from issue date unless carrier fare rules in passenger’s itinerary fare provide otherwise.
